I haven't slept properly for months.
well, my sleep pattern has always been erratic.
think it started when I was fifteen and used to work at a lil bistro, as a waitress.
got home most nights about three am. then it still took a couple of hours to wash, unwind, and finally get to sleep.
depression also rearranges everything, and insomnia is just an aspect of that.
I get up pretty much the same time every day though, without an alarm. hate alarms, and won't have one!...between seven or eight-thirty.
I keep waking up through the night, several times. some nights every hour, just about. I don't know why. it's not hot, or anything.
I asked my doctor for sleeping pills, but he just gave me some crappy tablets that he said would relax me. didn't have any effect at all. I think, coz of my history with depression, he didn't think he could trust me with sleeping pills. I used to get them on repeat prescription a couple of years ago, when I was also on prosac. they were great. really worked well.
so I sacked my doctor, and now I've got a female one. much nicer, much more understanding and sympathetic. I'll see what she says about sleeping pills next visit.
